New Zealand Electricity Supply
New Zealand’s mains electricity is 230 volt AC, 50 hertz. Most hotels and
motels have 110 volt AC sockets for electric shavers. An adaptor will be
required to use any electrical equipment brought into the country. These can be
purchased at local hardware stores or electrical goods suppliers.
Electricity supply is generally very good and reliable; most is generated via
Hydro electric schemes in the South Island.
