We are situated in central Franz Josef Village, with spectacular mountain and Glacier Valley views, just ten minutes drive to New Zealand’s infamous Franz Josef Glacier.
The Franz Josef Glacier descends to 250 metres above sea level, amidst the greenery and lushness of a temperate rainforest. Of all the accessible temperate glaciers in New Zealand, the Franz Josef Glacier is easily the steepest and fastest moving.
We can arrange all tours, from a Helicopter flight to a full day hiking expedition. Meander through one of the many bush walks our Rainforest has to offer. Study the native flora and forna, bird and wildlife. Visit the White Heron Sanctuary at nearby Whataroa, Kayak on magnificent Lake Mapourika or visit Historical Okarito.
After a big day exploring our natural environment you’ll feel like a wander around the Village to visit our excellent cafes, restaurants, bars and souvenir shops or just relax and admire our awe-inspiring sun set.
